For the company 1. Find a spot with plenty of rocks 2. Close your eyes 3. Collect seven rocks that can fit in your closed palm 4. Put them in a box 5. Close the lid of the box 6. Open your eyes 7. Walk home with the box closed 8. Put the box at the back of a closet (or anywhere out of sight) 9. Wait four weeks 10. Retrieve the box 11. Open the box 12. Pull out the rocks one by one 13. Wash the rocks then dry them 14. Place them on the ground in a grid or line, sit with them 15. Study the rocks with your eyes, memorize their color 16. Close your eyes and study them from touch, memorize their curves, cracks, and bumps 17. Name the rocks one by one 18. Say their names out loud 19. Remember them each by name (by touch as well as sight) 20. Put them back in the box one by one (in whatever order you’d like) 21. Put box on bedside table (or anywhere in sight) 22. Each morning stand or sit in front of the box and close your eyes 23. Take out one rock from the box (without looking) 24. Open your eyes, look at the rock 25. Call it by its name 26. Put it in your pocket 27. Notice how you feel that day 28. Notice when you put your hand in your pocket 29. Put the rock back into the box at night 30. Repeat steps 21 through 28 each day for four weeks 31. Notice how you feel differently with each rock 32. (Optional) After four weeks, move the box to a different place 33. (With eyes open, or closed) Take a rock when you feel you’d like the company
